If you need to get your hands on an actual document, you will want to reach out to the right government office directly:
- Divorce and family court records: Contact the Clerk of Courts in the county where the case was filed, typically the Domestic Relations Division
- Divorce verification: Request a certified abstract from the Ohio Department of Health, Bureau of Vital Statistics
- Property and deed records: Reach the County Recorder in the county where the property is located
- Birth, death, and marriage certificates: Order through the Ohio Department of Health, Bureau of Vital Statistics at (614) 466-2531
- Criminal background checks: Submit a request through the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI)
